Crawler Innovations was the first to combine closed cell and open cell foam into one package with our Double Deuce and Lil’ Nova product lines. It became clear early on, that protecting the tire foams from flat spots was going to be crucial. Especially with heavy scale rc vehicles and water soaked foams. Originally we used a brick under the skid plate for storing our rc crawlers at CI. However, those were not ideal, especially when transporting an rc in a 1:1 vehicle to an event, or while building or performing routine maintenance. Something had to be done to remedy the situation and the Crawler Innovations Cell Block was created. This ultra dense, closed cell, custom machined, cube size RC car stand is light weight and durable.

Using only the firm inner material, while focusing on the machined size and shape of the foam.
The Deuce's Wild Tuning Disc set consists of four closed cell foam discs. These discs are designed to add width to your foams inside the tire. Generally it is recommended to install one disc on the outside of all four foams inside the tires. The discs do not fold over under load whether it's high speed, heavy weight, or simply turning. The discs can easily be trimmed with scissors to reduce the O.D. or increase the I.D.

This dense tuning disc provides increased steering response, and adds width to the foam for wider tires. These foams are 100% water proof.

Time has passed since the original design was created and improvements are now here. The Tall Block is still made from ultra dense, closed cell, and is custom machined. It now features the Crawler Innovations logo or icon in the center. The Tall Block is approximately 5" tall x 5" wide x 4" thick. It was created for RC crawlers that have higher skid plate clearance, or builders looking for extra height.

C.I.'s Micro Tuning Disc Set is designed for use in the Little Guy Racing Parts, Trail King M/T 1.0" Tires, which are 2.48" or 64mm tall, .94" or 24mm width. The Micro Tuning Disc Set can be used in any similar sized tire, or the hobbyist can trim the Outside Diameter (O.D.) smaller to fit another brand of SCX24 tire. A shorter height disc = more forward bite. The taller the disc = more side wall support. Trim wisely. Curved lexan body scissors are recommended to trim the disc shorter. When trimming for performance rock crawling, remove .125" or 3mm and it will yield .250" or 6mm overall from the disc.

Crawler Innovations is out with another first. Introducing our dual stage closed cell foam pair. This new product features our dense car stand foam, cut and shaped into the inner foam. This dense inner, offers superior steering response, and a firm foundation for the second stage. The second stage is our standard gray foam. Combined this pairing is 100% water proof.
CWR-3205 was was designed for use in the Pitbull Tires 1.9 Growler Tire (PB9006NK) but will fit many other brands of tires as long as they are similar in height and width. Examples are the Pro-Line TSL SX XL, RC4WD MT BC TTC, JConcepts Scorpio, and tires of similar height and width. The dual stage height is the same height as the original CWR-3005.
These foams are much firmer than anything available on the market. They do not fold over under load whether it's high speed, heavy weight, or simply turning. These foams rely on a small air gap between the foam and tire. This loose area allows for the tire to obtain traction, while the foam supports the tire.
If you are interested in completely filling the tire with foam and do not care about waterproofness, the Lil Nova 4.25, 4.50, 4.75" Outers will stretch over this pairing. Those outer P/N's are CWR-2047, CWR-2048, CWR-2049. These outers are cut from conventional foam and are not water proof.
Approximate size: 4.125" Height x 1.50" Width (Remember that foam goes inside the tire and one must subtract lug and carcass thickness, plus any reinforcing from the overall tire height.)

Foams do not need to be confusing!
Here are some basics you need to know...
#1. The Crawler Innovations Double Deuce, Lil Nova and Deuce’s Wild Foam Systems are based on the weight and intended use of the your RC Vehicle, not the overall height of the tire.
#2. The closed cell foam is water proof, and air tight. The tire must be vented to allow the foam and the tire to properly conform to the rock surface. No air movement = No tire conformity
#3. Crawler Innovations always recommends stepping up one outer density for the rear foam pair of your RC Vehicle. The reason being is that the weight of the RC vehicle transfers to the rear tires on a climb.
#4. There is no one magical foam that does it all. If you want maximum rock crawling traction, you need a Dual Stage foam. If you want maximum speed with no tire enlargement, you need a Deuce's Wild Single Stage. Crawler Innovations offers a number of tuning aids that will allow you to finely tune your foams, once you've reached that level of understanding. Not everyone wants to be a Pro RC driver, some are happy weekend warriors.
#5. Wheel Weights: Crawler Innovations highly recommends knuckle weights. Do your best to keep rotating weight off your RC vehicle drive train. Your RC vehicle will last longer, perform better, and you can use the saved money from non broken drive train parts for other upgrades.
However, if you do use stick on lead weight around your RC rim, all of the Crawler Innovations Closed Cell Inner Foams will need to be modified to clear your wheel weights without stretching the inner. When you stretch the inner, it increases the Outside Diameter and the foam does not perform as designed. A Dremel with a sanding drum makes quick work of modifying the foam.
#6. Narrow Wheels with Standard Foams. If you have a Dremel with a sanding drum, sand the Closed Cell inner foam at a 45 degree angle so that it matches the width of your clamp ring. All of the VP bead locks are .750" width clamp rings, 1" overall. C.I. sells narrow inner foams, but unless your tire is narrowed, it's not properly filling the tire.
#7. Dual Stage Foams and Water: It's a non-issue, even with the tires vented. The closed cell foam PUSHES water away. So even though water might be coming through a 2mm vent hole, only the outer will retain water, but the outer is being flattened as it is being rolled on, thereby, only a minimal amount of water is even allowed in the tire. At the end of your day of fun, simply hand squeeze out as much water as possible from your tires, then run the RC Vehicle at wide open throttle with the vehicle in a elevated position and the centrifugal force will pull most of the remaining water out through the vent holes. Store your RC vehicle in an elevated position to avoid flat spots in the tires and foams.
